In November 2003 seven local businessmen purchased Oakland Plantation with the goal of developing a quality mixed-use master-planned community unlike anything in Lee County and this area. With Quail Valley, Quail Chase, and The Estates, Oakland has set the standard for residential development. Commercial development along the Oakland Parkway likewise has continued to grow with everything from doctor’s offices, a daycare center, churches, banks, apartments, a grocery store, restaurants, an assisted living facility, and a library.
The master plan continues to evolve. Oakland Plantation Partners are pleased to announce the opening of “The Villas at Oakland Plantation”. Located on 18 acres across from Greystone Apartments on the Oakland Parkway, this gated community will be comprised of 43 energy-efficient single-family patio homes. High-speed internet is available from both Albany Utilities and AT&T with speeds up to 100 megabits per second. Natural gas is also available from Albany Utilities. A model home is open for tours.
